
Jane was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia in 1993 and in the High Court of Australia in 1994. She commenced her legal career with the Legal Services Commission before later working as trial counsel at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Jane joined the independent Bar in 2014.
Jane has extensive experience prosecuting and defending complex criminal matters in the District and Supreme Courts of South Australia, including both State and Commonwealth prosecutions, and appears regularly in the Court of Appeal. She has also acted in SafeWork and WorkSafe Victoria matters, coronial inquests, matrimonial and disciplinary proceedings.
Jane has been a member of Bar Council since 2020 and is a long standing member of the Criminal Law and Women at the Bar Committees. She coaches criminal advocacy in the Bar Readers' Course.
Jane is recognised not only for her advocacy and forensic judgement, but also for her approachable manner with both clients and professional colleagues.
