Chris has been engaged in a broad practice since his admission as a barrister and solicitor in 1985. He has extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation.
Chris was admitted to the Independent Bar in July 2004. He is briefed predominantly in criminal, disciplinary, administrative and insurance matters. He practices extensively in the District Court of South Australia.
Chris acts as counsel and advises in matters before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, the Equal Opportunity Tribunal and various disciplinary Boards in South Australia. He accepts briefs to advise and appear for individuals as well as statutory and private insurers in insurance litigation.
As a former Member of the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia, Chris was involved at board level and as the chair of enquiries conducted pursuant to the Teachers Registration and Standards Act 2004, enquiring as to alleged unprofessional conduct and incapacity on the part of teachers. He continues to act as a panel chair in conjunction with the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL), assessing applications by universities and education providers, seeking accreditation of initial teacher education programs in Australia.
