Anthony was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia in March 1999.

Since admission Anthony has appeared as trial counsel in all South Australian criminal jurisdictions and has appeared as counsel in appellate jurisdictions of the Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeal and High Court of Australia. Anthony also regularly appears in the Health Practitioners Tribunal (now the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal) in relation to a diverse range of professional disciplinary matters.

In 2020 Anthony was appointed as Senior Counsel.

Previously, Anthony was recognised in Doyle's Guide in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and again in 2020 as pre-eminent junior counsel practising criminal law in South Australia (as recognised by South Australia's criminal lawyers, both solicitors & counsel).  In 2020, this recognition extended to being included in the top 12 junior counsel practising in criminal law in Australia.

Anthony accepts briefs on criminal, coronial, disciplinary matters and WHS prosecutions, to appear as counsel and provide opinions as required.

In terms of superior court experience, Anthony has appeared as lead counsel before the Full Court of the Supreme Court on more than 40 appeals against conviction and sentence. Anthony has also conducted a number of Supreme Court trials and pleas for clients charged with murder, manslaughter and serious organised crime offences.

Anthony is also the President of the Australian & New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology & Law (SA) and a member of the Criminal Law Committe of the South Australian Bar Association.
